What’s the recovery like after neck liposuction?
You’ll be able to go home the same day, and most people return to work and light activities within 48-72 hours. Dr. Morris will provide you with a compression garment to wear for several days to minimize swelling and support the new contour. Mild bruising, swelling, or tightness is normal and generally subsides within a week or two. Because the procedure is performed under local anesthesia, downtime is significantly reduced compared to traditional liposuction.
Will there be visible scars after the procedure?
Scarring is minimal to none. Dr. Morris’s incisions are extremely small—usually 1 to 2 millimeters—and strategically placed in inconspicuous areas like under the chin or behind the ears. These incisions typically heal very well and fade over time. They often become virtually invisible within a few months, especially when proper post-care instructions are followed.
How soon will I see the results of neck liposuction?
You may begin to see improvements within a week or two, especially as the initial swelling decreases. However, your final results will continue to refine over the next three to six months as collagen builds and skin retraction progresses. Because Smartlipo Triplex also promotes skin tightening, many patients notice continued improvements long after the procedure.
Is neck liposuction permanent?
Yes, neck liposuction results are considered permanent. Once the fat cells are removed, they do not regenerate. However, it’s important to maintain a stable weight, as significant weight gain can cause the remaining fat cells to enlarge. Dr. Morris uses Smartlipo Triplex to not only remove fat but also stimulate collagen, which helps maintain skin tightness over time.
